Cynthia P. KeenanĀ is a seasoned healthcare and nonprofit leader with more than 15 years of experience advancing health equity, practice transformation, and organizational excellence. She currently serves as Director of Organizational Excellence at HealthTeamWorks, where she manages a team of facilitators and project managers to deliver high-quality coaching, training, and consultation services for national and regional healthcare initiatives. In this role, she leads culturally relevant training, facilitates learning networks, and drives strategies to improve care quality, strengthen care teams, and support organizations in value-based care. In addition, Cynthia serves as the Regional Health Connector for Boulder and Broomfield Counties, where she builds and strengthens partnerships between healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and public health agencies. Through this role, she helps address social determinants of health, improves access to resources, and fosters collaboration to advance community well-being and health equity.

At HealthTeamWorks, Cynthia has played a central role in shaping and delivering large-scale practice transformation efforts. She has facilitated more than 50 trainings and affinity groups nationally, fostering peer learning and collaboration for programs such as Making Care Primary, Primary Care First, the Enhancing Oncology Model, and the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus initiative. Ā Cynthia’s work includes designing and delivering culturally relevant and affirming care training series for providers across Colorado, as well as developingĀ learning content and evaluation strategies to support performance improvement and knowledge-sharing across diverse practices.

Cynthia’s career spans executive and operational leadership across community health centers, nonprofit organizations, and integrated medical groups. As CEO of Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center, she guided the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, stabilizing finances, forging community partnerships, and implementing quality improvement programs to enhance both outcomes and sustainability. At Colorado Permanente Medical Group, she advanced operational efficiency across eleven primary care practices, expanding access to care and improving patient outcomes. Earlier in her career at Clinica Family Health Services, she oversaw clinic operations, compliance, and staff development to ensure high-quality care for underserved communities.

With deep expertise in facilitation, strategic planning, and cross-sector partnership building, Cynthia is also a bilingual facilitator experienced in designing and delivering affirming care training to healthcare providers and care teams. She holds a Master of Nonprofit Management from Regis University and a Bachelor of Arts & Science in International Affairs and Political Science, with a minor in Ethnic Studies, from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Rooted in her lived experience as a Mexican-American immigrant, she brings a deep commitment to equity, social justice, and community partnership to every aspect of her work.
