Callen Willows (she/her and he/him) began his career in the nonprofit sector as a Customer Service Representative at the Starfish Project Foundation in Olathe, KS, where he managed donations, connected clients to community resources, and provided administrative and operational support.
In 2023, Callen joined HealthTeamWorks as a Nonprofit Intern and was later promoted to Program Coordinator. In this role, he supported delivery teams through content development, communications and coordination, technical assistance, customer and student support, and project operations across multiple initiatives.
Beyond his professional experience, Callen brings valuable perspective as a trained Community Health Worker (CHW) living in Missouri. His lived experience as a trans and disabled person navigating healthcare fuels his passion for advocacy and positions him as a trusted voice in advancing equity within health systems.
Callen’s areas of interest include behavioral health, maternal health, and end-of-life care. He earned his Community Health Worker certification in June 2025 and continues to volunteer with Phoenix Home Care and Hospice, using both training and personal experience to uplift trans and disabled communities and improve access to compassionate, equitable care.
